Program Structure / Construction & AutoCAD Standards
(Built to the Very Highest of the AutoCAD* Program Development Standards)

General :
As an Authorized AutoCAD Developer, we decided to follow the very highest of several optional programming levels suggested by AutoCAD.
HydrauliCAD utilizes the power & solidity of AutoCAD's ARX & C++.Net programming to construct the most reliable & flexible program possible.

Object Structure :
The Basic Hydraulic Objects, the foundation upon which hydraulic models are built, were built as Registered AutoCAD Objects, using AutoCAD's ARX & C++ as the foundation.

They become root AutoCAD Objects and can be viewed or edited, individually or en masse, via the actual AutoCAD Properties Palette.

Objects respond directly toALLl AutoCAD Commands & Tools because they are true AutoCAD Objects.

Because Objects are Registered True AutoCAD Objects:
individual Property Editing is done from within the familiar AutoCAD "Properties Palette"

ALL Object Editing is done using the HydrauliCAD-AutoCAD Properties Palette, exactly as you would edit ANY other AutoCAD Object.
( This applies to Individual HydrauliCAD Objects as well as to Objects Selected on masse)

Seamlessly integrated with AutoCAD:
From a CAD perspective, user can manipulate the hydraulic elements exactly the same as any other drawing entity. All hydraulic data remains only within the drawing. With no need for external data files or libraries, any data can be exchanged directly between models via the AutoCAD DesignCenter.

Fully customizable:
Covers a larger spectrum of modeling situations.
Hydraulic element properties and commands can be accessed using VBA and other languages.
Tasks & Tools
As a result of this level of program structure, AutoCAD Commands are accessed & utilized to perform tasks at the root AutoCAD level.
HydrauliCAD utilizes the basic AutoCAD tools to operate it's Tools & Tasks, giving the program a stability & reliability not achieved by any other methods.

Alternative Copy Methods:

User could also choose to "Copy Existing" from the right click menu and copy (those properties which you set for copy in "Copy Rules") by clicking on the desired pipe in the drawing - All Properties NOT set in Copy Rules will remain unaltered

OR, you could choose to use HydraliCAD-AutoCAD "Match Properties" if you wished to edit from within the drawing.

Match Properties, and ALL Copy Methods, follow Copy Rules in HydrauliCAD - thus all Copy Operations alter ONLY those Properies you wish to be altered.

All Hydraulic Data is Stored Within the Drawing File:
No external hydraulic files are created, or needed to run the models.
All HydrauliCAD data is retained within the AutoCAD drawing itself.
