Tutorial 12.4 - Transfer an Entire Settings Property Type
The modified Design Center allows transfer of all Options Items (Settings, Patterns, Pipe Specifications, Object Templates etc. - all items in the left pane of Options) to another existing or new drawing.
The Target Drawing must be open, Donor Drawing can be open or closed.

The Properties demonstrated here are merely to show how to do the transfer.

All Properties Types are transferred in exactly the same manner.

Transferring "ALL" Demand Patterns
from a Closed Drawing

In this example, we will transfer "ALL" DEMAND PATTERNS (commercial 1, residential 1 & 2) from the closed drawing "Corp. of Oak Bay Analysis2 into the Current Drawing.

To bring up the DESIGN CENTER in the open Target Drawing, Click on , in the Acad Standard Toolbar, or use AutoCAD Menu > Tools > ("Palettes" in newer versions) > Design Center.

1. Click on the "FOLDERS" Tab, at the top, and scroll to locate the drawing from which to obtain the desired settings.
2. Click on the drawing name to open and view the Setting types contained in the drawing.

In the left window, Do Not Double-click on the specific Setting desired (in this case Demand Patterns) to open all of the demand patterns contained in it.
3. Instead, Click on Demand Patterns to Highlight it.

This process to highlight, then Drag and Drop is identical to that used for most Windows selections.

Left Click and Hold on any of the Highlighted "Hyd_DemandPatterns". Drag it into your current drawing, and release the mouse button.
All of the Demand Patterns contained in the Original Drawing are now placed in the Target Drawing.

Transfer any of the other Categories using this same method.

Keep in mind that we can transfer only INTO an OPEN drawing!!!
