Tutorial 12.2 -Transfer Specific Settings to an Open Drawing
The modified Design Center allows transfer of all Options Items (Settings, Patterns, Pipe Specifications, Object Templates etc. - all items in the left pane of Options) to another existing or new drawing.
The Target Drawing must be open, Donor Drawing can be open or closed.

The Properties demonstrated here are merely to show how to do the transfer.

All Properties Types are transferred in exactly the same manner.

Transferring "Specific Selected" Pipe Specs. / Sizes

from a Open Drawing

In this example, we will transfer "SELECTED" PIPESIZES (of a given Material / Specification) from the open drawing "Corp. of Oak Bay Analysis2 into the Current Drawing.

To bring up the DESIGN CENTER in the open Target Drawing, Click on , in the Acad Standard Toolbar, or use AutoCAD Menu > Tools > ("Palettes" in newer versions) > Design Center.

1. Click on the "FOLDERS" Tab, at the top, and scroll to locate the drawing from which to obtain the desired settings.
2. Click on the X beside the drawing name to open and view the Setting types contained in the drawing.

3. In the left window, Double-click on the specific Setting desired (in this case Demand Patterns) to open all of the demand patterns contained in it.

This process to highlight, then Drag and Drop is identical to that used for most Windows selections.

4. Select (highlight) a single pattern, hold down Control key to select (highlight) several more patterns individually, or hold down the Shift Key to select several automatically.
( To UN-highlight any, hold down control and left click on them)

Left Click and Hold on any of the Highlighted Patterns. Drag them into your current target drawing area, and release the mouse button. The selected Options Settings are now contained in the current drawing.

Keep in mind that we can transfer only INTO an OPEN drawing!!!
