Tutorial 10B.2 - Basic Drawing On the Fly - Video

QuickBuild Icon
Starts the Place Hydraulic Objects Sequence and loads the current Object in cursor.

1. "Hydraulic Snap" Set ON !! (located on StatusBar) to force a solid Network connection.

With it Set OFF, it may NOT connect to a valid Network Object

2. Also on the StatusBar, until you become more familiar with modeling in HydrauliCAD, the Hyd. Auto. Calc. is best left as "NON Auto"

When active, this feature causes Automatic Network Runs as connections are made, and identifies a Network problem as it occurs.

Click to Place a Junction Node, continue to Click to place Junctions

QuickBuild's natural inclination is to:
1. Snap hydraulically to a nearby Node,
OR, if none is nearby,
2. Place a Node in space.

To "Cut Into" an Existing Pipe, and make a solid Network Connection Junction
HOLD DOWN the CNTR Key to force it to Split the Pipe, to place a connected Node, and to NOT Snap to a nearby Node.

A Message Box appears

YES to Cut Into Network
NO to Place a Node in Space

NOTE: If "NO", Be Cautious in placing an unconnected node near a Network Object as it may appear to be connected and serve to confuse in future

Following a Sequence, it is good practice to Run Analysis often to confirm Network is intact. Then, if there is a Network connection problem, it will be spotted quickly and corrected or one can back up and redo the small section of work.

Blue Water Drop on right end of status Bar (see above) confirms a Successful Run & that Network is Intact
