Tutorial 4.1 - The HydrauliCAD Palette

Open Hyd Palette from the menu OR from its Icon on the Secondary Toolbar

Palette can be placed outside drawing or anywhere you wish. It can be positioned exactly the AutoCAD Properties palette, or the Quick Properties Palette.

 

1. Set Active Display Style and Legend Section

Display Styles dictate the size and color of objects displayed in the drawing.
Set a Display Style Active by choosing from the ComboBox at the top.

The Legend, when opened up, tells the user what colors and sizes represent.
Open Object Type to display its color and size representation.

 

2. Scenario Section:

- Set "Active" Scenario in the ComboBox at the top.
Having an "Active" Scenario is necessary for many Time step procedures, some sources may need refilling in order to prevent negative pressures which will cause the run to fail.

- This is also where Scenarios and Sub-Scenarios are created and saved.

 

3. Save Selection Sets:

1. Save 5 Temporary "Session" Sets in the lower section.

2. Save Permanent Selection Sets in the top section, to be saved inside the drawing for recall at any time in the future.

3. Cycle through selected objects one at a time

 

4 a. EPANET Report
Analysis, Fire Flow and Error Report Section:

When set active, this reports hydraulic Analysis completion or network problems.

- It also lists Hydraulic Objects by Type and shows the time at which a Dynamic Analysis has a problem maintaining system pressure

- In many cases, it lists problem objects and allows user to highlight them and select them in the drawing.

 

4 b. EPANET Fire Flow Report for Hydrant checks at various Time Steps:

 

5. Full Report Section:

This Report follows its direction from the Report set in AutoCAD Options.

It produces user defined reports on this form

and / or

produces export files for Excel and most other mediums wherein user can then customize the report to suit his company's needs and format.
